Benefit
I skipped out of the swim meet early today in order to go my student's family benefit for the older brother who has cancer. I had never been to The Nickel Joint in Frogtown before. I might have to go back. It reminded me of The Sportsmans or The Hurry-Back in Chariton. It was nice to meet the older brother and see the two of them together. There's a lot of love and happiness there, as well as a lot of support from friends and family.

I hope they raised a lot of money and more importantly, he had fun and got his mind off things for a while. I can't help but wonder where "Frogtown" is. Sounds like a hopping place. (groans)
ReplyDeleteWonder if it's anything like where I grew up as a teen? Good old Swisher, Ia...and it's smaller counterpart on the other side of 380 known as Shueyville. Good old Herman's Tap and the Dance Mor...
