Exit...Stage Left

I'm still laughing about our concert last night at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center. Beautiful but small space. We had never sung there previously. This was our annual ¡Cantaré! concert that includes several high schools and elementary groups. Our chorus was set to sing one piece and then join the entire group at the end for the finalé. The Burnsville fire department is a stickler for rules, though and wouldn't let all of us cram on stage. So it was decided that the chorus would not sing at the end with the combined choirs. We walked on stage right, sang our piece in the middle of the program, and exited stage left - right out of the building and to our cars in the parking lot. Adios! Shortest concert ever. It just struck me as very funny. Maybe you had to be there.
