Update on The Art of Racing in the Rain (Spoiler warning)

Well, it's a little over the top. Even for me. It reminds me of The Unbearable Lightness of Being when, after all this terrible and sad stuff happens to this couple, their dog finally gets cancer. The dog doesn't get cancer in this book but he witnesses a lot of drama/melodrama in the family. It's still a good book to read if you can put yourself in the mood. And I still like the perspective of the dog, his interest in race car driving, his belief that he will become human after he dies, and his objectivity about it all.
